A sad news for CoD players in Kuwait, as the much-awaited Black Ops 6 will not arrive in the region on October 25. Activision has also declared that players who’ve pre-purchased the game will get a refund, and all the sales have been stopped as well. This happened due to Kuwait’s restriction over the game, which remains unclear as of now. However, some fans believe that this is because of the game’s story focusing on the Gulf War.
Activision has stated that they remain hopeful as there is a chance that the authorities might reconsider the decision and let players enjoy Black Ops 6 at its full potential.
Call of Duty stops Black Ops 6 sales in Kuwait
While Call of Duty fans are eagerly waiting for Black Ops 6 to drop on October 25, it seems like the game will not be released in Kuwait, and Activision has also stopped all sales in the region as well. Here is what Activision stated regarding the situation:
“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has not been approved for release in Kuwait. At this time, the title will not be available for release in the region. As a result, all pre-orders in Kuwait will be cancelled and refunded to the original point of purchase. We remain hopeful that local authorities will reconsider and allow players in Kuwait to enjoy this all-new experience in the Black Ops series.”
It is still unclear why this decision was made. However, many believe that this is due to the Gulf War setting in Black Ops 6. Although Call of Duty tells a fictional story, it draws major influences from real-life battles that happened in the world.
In the upcoming Black Ops 6, Gulf War will play a major part in the game. In reality, the Gulf War started when Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1991. Hence, there is a massive chance that the local authority did not think releasing the game would be appropriate in the country.
Black Ops 6 will be globally released on October 25, and the game will be available in all the regions except Kuwait as of now.
