The Green Bay Packers recently announced they’ll wear their 1950s throwback uniforms during Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, which kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.

The uniforms are reminiscent of what the Packers wore from 1950-53, as they feature green jerseys with gold numbers and two gold stripes on the sleeves, green pants with a single gold stripe down the sides and green socks with stripes that match the sleeves.

Green Bay will also remove the decals from its standard gold helmets and swap the green facemasks for gray, though that part of the uniform isn’t historically accurate since players weren’t required to wear facemasks until 1955.

The Packers are 2-1 in the throwback threads since they were unveiled, including wins over the Washington Football Team in 2021 and Los Angeles Chargers last season. Their lone loss came at the hands of the New York Jets in 2022.

This might not be the only appearance for the throwback uniforms this season, either,  as there are several products on the Packers’ online shop that display a vintage “GB” logo and the date of their Monday Night Football matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Dec. 23.

Green Bay is permitted to wear them and their all-white Color Rush uniforms – which now feature white alternate helmets that debuted in its Oct. 20 win over the Houston Texans – a combined three times per season, leaving one open date on the schedule… for now.
