SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) — Reporters witnessed a spectacle unlike any other in K-pop on Wednesday. TripleS, the girl group that boasts the largest number of members ever, made a grand entrance at its media showcase in a lengthy procession that spanned the stage.

The showcase at a concert hall in Seoul was abuzz with anticipation as it marked the release of the group’s first album involving all of its 24 members, two years after its debut.

TripleS has a unique system where fans vote to select the members who will participate in each unit project and main tracks of albums. Since its debut in May 2022, the team has been showcasing various unit projects with diverse member combinations.

It won best rookie at major K-pop music awards, such as the MAMA Awards and Hanteo Music Awards last year, having garnered attention for such a unique operating system and its unique fictional universe for music.

“Even two years ago when I joined the team, it felt like a long way off until we could all come together like this,” member Yoon Seo-yeon said during the showcase for the group’s first studio album, “Assemble24.”

“So it’s a touching and precious moment to be together as a full group now.”

Kim Chae-yeon showed her confidence in the album, saying “This album marks the beginning of the group with its full 24 members. It contains all of our colors.”

Asked about the group’s strength, Yoon singled out its “incredibly cool” stage performances and strong connection with fans.

However, Kim Na-kyoung confided that “One disadvantage of having a lot of members is that we have to go to the salon (hairdresser) early.”

“We are usually divided into two teams and there are times when the first team has to go at 1 a.m.,” she said, laughing.

“Assemble24” consists of 10 tracks, led by “Girls Never Die” depicting the will of girls who don’t break down even in the face of hardship and difficulty, according to the band.
