After bouncing back into the winner’s column with a massive first-round finish of Itsuki Hirata, Victoria Souza is zeroing in on her next assignment on the global stage of martial arts.
The Brazilian athlete will meet Alyse Anderson in an atomweight MMA match that will be part of ONE 168: Denver, which will air live in American primetime from the Ball Arena on September 6.
As massive of an opportunity as it may be, the 26-year-old hopes not to crumble under pressure when she features on the promotion’s return to the U.S.
Much like she did to prepare herself for her do-or-die tilt against Hirata, the Ataque Duplo and Chute Boxe Floripa representative will keep a close tab on Anderson’s past outings to tailor a winning formula after taking some much-needed time off.
Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA from the Impact Arena, ‘Vick’ shared:
“Before [my win], we were working for this fight against Hirata. Now, I want to relax, unwind, and get back to watching Alyse’s fights to work on a good fight against her.”

In Anderson, Souza could be up against the stiffest test yet of her career. The 29-year-old American brings a solid stand-up game to go alongside her supreme Brazilian jiu-jitsu that often goes under the radar.
However, Victoria Souza is no stranger in either department herself. Across eight victories on her resume, the three-time Brazilian kickboxing champion has finished six opponents – three apiece via knockout and submission – and she’d fancy adding Anderson to her list of victims when they go toe-to-toe at ONE 168: Denver on September 6.

Victoria Souza left no stone unturned throughout her fight camp to prepare for heavy favorite Itsuki Hirata at ONE 167 this past Friday, June 7. And she was rewarded finely with the best win on her resume yet.
Souza trapped the Japanese star’s head, secured a figure-four, and dropped positions to amplify the effectiveness of her picture-perfect guillotine choke.
As a result, ‘Android 18’ was left completely unconscious, which instantly forced referee Herb Dean to wave off the tie at the 1:31 mark of the opening stanza.
