Football is in AC Milan’s DNA, and the Serie A club wants everyone to know it through their new home kit for 2024-25, made by Puma.
AC Milan unveiled the new kits on their website and social media channels on Thursday, May 23. After getting experimental in recent years (2023-24; 2022-23; 2021-22), the Rossoneri return to a very traditional look of red and black vertical stripes for 2024-25. But inside each red stripe is a segmented tonal stripe “visual representation of the human genome – the essence of the Milanismo,” the club says on its website. “It represents the passion that flows like blood through the veins of fans, a tradition passed on through generations, and donned by some of the greatest to ever play the game.”
The crew neck collar, sleeve cuffs and side panels on the jersey are white, as are Puma logos on the chest and shoulders and the sponsor logos on the chest and sleeve. The back of the jersey has a solid red panel for name and number legibility.
AC Milan is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2024, and the new home kit contains a couple of nods to the milestone. The back collar features a patch with “125 YEARS” spelled out in white and “A.C. Milan” in a gold script font, all with a thick black outline.
Inside the collar is a gold emblem with the words “SOCIAL CLUB INSTITUTION” and the years 1899 and 2024 around a DNA strand. This emblem symbolizes “the Club’s steadfast dedication to social issues and underscoring AC Milan’s role as a social and cultural institution committed to fostering positive societal change, in line with its values,” according to the club’s announcement.
AC Milan’s online store shows both white and black shorts options for the 2024-25 home kit, but only white socks.
“AC Milan’s new Home kit is a testament to our rich heritage and the enduring legacy of Milanismo, which is able to bring together over 500 million fans across the globe,” said AC Milan chief commercial officer Maikel Oettle. “This jersey truly embodies the spirit of passion, dedication, and innovation that defines our Club. We are proud to unveil this special kit, which symbolizes our commitment not only to football excellence but also to our role as a social and cultural institution.”
Along with the home kit, AC Milan also launched a new goalkeeper kit for 2024-25 on Thursday. It follows the same Puma template as we saw in Manchester City’s unveiling last week, but AC Milan have opted for a black base with a grey pattern all over. White accents appear on the sides and the front of the collar.
AC Milan’s men’s team will wear the new home kit in their final home match of the Serie A season against US Salernitana 1919 on Saturday, May 25, and also in a friendly against AS Roma in Perth, Australia, on Friday, May 31.
