Following the fake cancer diagnosis scandal, controversial internet personality Steven “Boogie2988” seems to have gotten “LIAR” tattooed on his face. For those unaware, Boogie2988 has been making headlines ever since Kick streamer Steven “Destiny” accused him of fabricating his cancer diagnosis.
On July 16, 2024, the YouTube veteran apologized via a post on X, stating that he should have waited until the “final tests” were completed. He further claimed that he would refrain from discussing his health in the future “no matter what happens”:
“Cancer is not something I would ever lie about. But I should have waited for the final tests to be done and not just repeated what my doctor had to say that day. I’m sorry that I ever spoke of it and moving forward no matter what happens I will not speak of it publicly.”
During the most recent Lolcow Live podcast episode, Boogie2988 received his “punishment” by having “LIAR” tattooed on his face. At the 33-minute mark, Daniel “Keemstar” said:
“Guys, we just broke our Lolcow Live record. We have 22,000 concurrent viewers watching Boogie get a tattoo of ‘LIAR’ on his face for faking cancer. And all the donations, Boogie will in fact be reading tonight. Oh, god!”

Later in the podcast, when Boogie2988’s “LIAR” tattoo was completed, Keemstar burst out laughing, saying that it “looked good”:
“Wait, is it done? And we have 24,000 concurrent viewers! Boogie gets ‘LIAR’ tattooed to his face after faking cancer. Yeah, it looks good. It actually looks good.”
In response, Jordie “Wings of Redemption” said:
“I’m so glad we decided to go bigger. It is so much nicer looking. I think I have a request, Boogie. You need to do a video tomorrow when you wake up how you feel about it.”
After Boogie2988 exited the Discord call, Keemstar expressed his surprise at the situation, exclaiming:
“What the f**k, Wings?! God! I cannot believe that just happened. Once Boogie gets back home, and he is at his desk, I’m sure he’s going to text me. And we’re going to be live with him home, and we’re going to celebrate Boogie’s return back to the show.”
Earlier this month (on July 18, 2024), Boogie2988 threatened to harm himself with a knife during a heated verbal altercation with Destiny, which has gone viral on social media.
