De’Aaron Fox laughed off a fan’s criticism regarding the trade of former Sacramento Kings player Tyrese Haliburton and the firing of head coach Mike Brown. As one of the hottest nams on the trade block, the $163M guard, who has reportedly garnered multiple suitors, responded to the fan’s claim that Fox had “hit the ‘I hate this franchise’ trifecta.”

In his tweet, the fan wrote:

“Getting the young superstar guard of the future, Tyrese Haliburton, traded because you didn’t like that he was killin when you were hurt, to getting the coach fired, now asking for a trade. D Fox has hit the “I hate this franchise” trifecta.”

The Kings superstar responded with a subtle emoji to express his amusement:

At the time of writing, the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets have emerged as strong contenders for De’Aaron Fox.

De’Aaron Fox trade rumors: Kings initiated the guard’s trade move

Per Yahoo! Sports’ Jake Fischer, it wasn’t De’Aaron Fox’s camp that approached the Sacramento Kings for a trade. The star guard preferred a trade in the offseason, but the Kings were quick to move in on the next steps. In his latest, the insider wrote:

“League sources say Fox and his representation would have preferred to reach this point during the offseason when teams around the league gain access to 2032 draft capital and carry additional roster spots.”

In response, when asked if he was the one who started off trade talks, Fox had his answer ready. According to Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee.

“No. That’s their decision to make. I can’t tell them not to listen to offers or I can’t tell them to listen to offers.”

Fox has spent his entire NBA career with Sacramento since he was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2017 draft class. In his 44 starts this season, the clutch star averages 25.1 points and 6.2 assists per game.
