Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona are back in black with their away kits for 2024-25, which were unveiled on Wednesday, September 4.
This season marks the fourth time Barça has used a black jersey as a change kit; previous iterations were introduced in 2011-12, 2013-14 and 2020-21. The 2024-25 version, made by Nike, combines a black base with Barça’s signature red and blue stripes, which appear on the side panels. The black sleeve cuffs and collar blend in with the base of the shirt.
The club crest sits in the center of the chest, rendered in all black with a reflective finish. The outline around the badge fades from red to black to blue, as does the outline on the Nike swoosh on the right chest. The logo of sponsor Spotify sits on the chest in red.
Barça will likely debut their new away kits on Sunday, September 15, when they visit Girona FC in La Liga action.
🇩🇪 BORUSSIA DORTMUND – Away
Staying with the black theme, German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund’s away kit for 2024-25, made by Puma, is a tribute to the diversity of the club and their constant fight against discrimination. A yellow band runs across the chest of the black shirt, which also has tonal diagonal stripes across the front and sleeves that contain the slogan “UNITED BY BORUSSIA” in several languages, including English, German, sign language and Braille. The sleeve cuffs and collar are solid black, with a yellow insert at the front of the collar.
🇩🇪 VfB STUTTGART – Third
Abstract art meets a local landmark in German Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart’s third kit for 2024-25, made by Jako. The black kit features the Stuttgarter Rössle, the heraldic animal of city seen on its flag and coat of arms, in an abstract print on the bottom half of the jersey. “Special highlights are the colored details, which symbolize the connection between VfB and the city of Stuttgart,” according to the club’s website. Stuttgart’s ever-present band across the chest appears on this kit in dark grey with white outlines.
🇩🇪 VfL WOLFSBURG – Third
Finally, a new kit that isn’t black! Well, German Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg’s third kit for 2024-25, made by Nike, does has some black on it, but the shirt is predominantly “silver-grey.” The crew neck collar is split between Wolfsburg’s signature shade of bright green and black, and the sleeve cuffs are black while panels under each arm are green. The club crest and sponsor logos on the chest are one-color black.
🇪🇸 RC CELTA DE VIGO – Third
In announcing their newest player, winger Marcos Alonso, Spanish La Liga side RC Celta de Vigo also took the opportunity late last month to introduce their new third kit for 2024-25, made by Hummel. The kit is predominantly orange, with a pattern on the collarbones, side panels and sleeve cuff trim that incorporates the silhouettes of landmarks around the city of Vigo. (The same pattern appears on their navy blue away kits.) The crew neck collar is light blue, while the club crest and Hummel logos on the chest and shoulders are navy blue.
🇮🇹 AC MONZA – Third
Italian Serie A side AC Monza pays tribute to their home city’s auto racing heritage with their third kits for 2024-25, made by Lotto. Monza is home to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, which hosts the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix each year. The black kit has embossed pinstripes on the front and sleeves, while the side panels have a checkerboard pattern and red and yellow diagonal lines cutting through them, mimicking the design and colors of the starting line of the race course. The sleeve cuffs are black with white trim, and the collar is black with red trim and a yellow insert at the front.
🇮🇹 ACF FIORENTINA – Third

Sponsor logos on the chest are white, as is “FIORENTINA” spelled out across the back collar.
🇫🇷 RC STRASBOURG ALSACE – Third
Meanwhile in France, Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg Alsace debuted their new third kits for 2024-25, made by Adidas, in a match on Monday, September 2, against Olympique Lyonnais, who also wore their new off-white third kits. Strasbourg’s kits are royal blue with a tonal zigzag pattern across the front and back, which is very similar to the pattern on the primary kit for Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls unveiled in February 2024. The raglan sleeves and side panels are dark blue, while the Adidas shoulder stripes, collar trim and sponsor logos are light blue. The left chest features an “RCS” monogram and a silhouette of the Strasbourg Cathedral, which is isolated from the club’s primary crest.
