Players can now get Shadow Carvanha in Pokemon GO as the critter is back in the game as part of Sierra’s lineup in the Adventure Week: Taken Over event. Shadow Carvanha is the first Pocket Monster that trainers will face when challenging the Team GO Rocket Leader. It is a dual Dark- and Water-type creature that can evolve into Shadow Sharpedo when Candies are fed to it.

Shadow Carvanha was introduced in Pokemon GO on February 3, 2020. Its shiny variant debuted during the Team GO Rocket Celebration event on February 2, 2021. Both forms are available in the game as of August 2024.

• Rescue Shadow Carvanha from Sierra or Grunts

Shadow Carvanha is a Water- and Dark-type Pokemon that is 160% weak to Bug-, Fairy-, Electric-, Fighting-, and Grass-type moves. These attacks deal additional damage to the creature when you are present in weather conditions that favor them.

You can obtain Shadow Carvanha by rescuing it from the possession of Grunts or Sierra. You’ll have to beat all three stages of Sierra’s lineup to encounter and catch the Pocket Monster.
