James finished his first Summer League game against the Sacramento Kings with four points on 2-of-9 shooting from the field. While he was aggressive in making shot attempts, his shots weren’t going in.
Fans waited to see him in action in the Lakers’ second game, which was against the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, the young prospect didn’t get to play as he had knee swelling.
The Lakers signed James to a four-year rookie deal worth $7.9 million. According to reports, his deal has a guaranteed $5.4 million and he cannot be traded until Dec. 15, 2025. The last year of his deal will be a team option.
Given that he signed a good deal for a second-round pick, the team expects him to produce well on the floor.
