With just under two weeks until this year’s Mid-Summer Classic, the jerseys for one of the two teams have leaked.
Posted by SNY’s Twitter account dedicated to the New York Yankees, the photos show the front and back of a cream-coloured American League jersey bearing the name of Yankees outfielder Juan Soto and his number 22. The jersey is presumably to be worn during the 2024 MLB All-Star Game later this month.
The photos show the jerseys are cream with “Lush Coral” sleeves and a blue stripe at the cuff. “AMERICAN LEAGUE” is written across the chest in an old west style typeface (appropriate with the game being held in Arlington, Texas) with AMERICAN arched over a level LEAGUE. One sleeve shows the Yankees’ “NY” logo re-coloured to match the jersey; the other shows a similarly re-coloured version of the 2024 MLB All-Star Game logo. The jock tag reads “ASG”
The colours of the jersey in this photo match the American League 2024 MLB All-Star Game caps that were officially released about a week ago.
We still haven’t seen anything jersey-wise for the National League All-Stars, but their caps are two-toned blue (with one blue so dark it looks black) and will likely follow a similar style as what we will apparently see the American Leaguers wearing.
Major League Baseball All-Stars began wearing matching uniforms for the 2021 game in Denver, Colorado. For the 90 or so years prior to that, each player had worn their own individual team uniform.
