LeBron James’ 5-word wisdom to Isaiah Collier ahead of NBA draft

Must read

LeBron James has been known for hyping up young players trying to get to the NBA. Isaiah Collier happens to be one of them, and the King had a solid piece of advice for him ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft.

Before the big night, Collier was interviewed by ESPN and asked if LeBron James gave him some advice ahead of the draft. He revealed that James told him to ‘live in the moment,’ as he got ready for a night that could change his life.

“Just be blessed, just be in the situation, there’s not many people that make it to the NBA, that’s definitely an accomplishment along. So I mean, just live in the moment and just be happy to be here,” Collier explained.

Isaiah Collier and LeBron James go back a long way since the USC product played with Bronny James at Sierra Canyon in high school. They shared touches in college, too, with LeBron following the two players’ development during their time at the collegiate level.

The Trojans guard spent a single season with the team, averaging 16.3 points per game for a team that didn’t show its best face last season.

Isaiah Collier declares LeBron James the NBA GOAT

Collier also discussed his relationship with LeBron James before this event, giving props to the LA Lakers superstar and calling him the greatest NBA player of all time. Talking with Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Collier broke down how much LeBron has helped him.

“It’s vibes just talking to him. He told me to enjoy the process. It’s hard to make it even this far in your career. I’ve talked to LeBron a couple of times. He has definitely been a great resource for me. He is one of the greats — in my opinion, the greatest of all-time. It was crazy surreal to have met him. I’m blessed to be in this situation and I’m taking advantage of every moment.”

Isaiah Collier’s former teammate, Bronny James, is also hoping to hear his name being called tonight or tomorrow afternoon. He remains a big mystery after a tumultuous season with USC, but Collier is expected to be a late first-round pick.

This year’s draft class has some intriguing prospects and Isaiah Collier could be one of those players who exceeds expectations and establish himself as a reliable asset in the association.
