On Monday, December 2, Bryce James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, shared a simple yet heartwarming Instagram story about his ‘other brother’s’ 18th birthday. The post meant for Dezhon Hall, the 6-foot-3 point guard from Greenville, SC, showcased the strong bond the two rising basketball players share.
Bryce James inserted a snap featuring Hall and himself posing in front of a mirror and attached a four-word message:
“Love you, Brodie 4L.”
Bryce and Hall are both formidable players, and their friendship goes a long way back. The duo had actually played together on North Coast Blue Chips. Hall, on one occasion, acknowledged he is very close to James’ family and even considers LeBron James as his uncle.
“I’ve known the family for like 10 years. I and Bryce played together on North Coast Blue Chips a long time ago, and we got really close,” he told Zagsblog.
“So LeBron is like an uncle for me now. He’s like a mentor. So I’m very close with the family. I go out to LA to visit them all the time.”
Hall is a standout player from Legacy Early College, Greenville, SC, and a No. 20 point guard in the 2026 class per 247Sports. In the 2023-24 season, he racked up an average of 12 points, 1.9 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 13 games.
But Dezhon Hall truly stood out in the final Adidas 3SSB session of the summer, where he pumped 20 points and five assists per game for Phenom Unity. Even Bryce James has praised his hoops skills, and in one instance, he took to Instagram to appreciate his exceptional “bag work.”
He shared the story in April with a clip of Hall putting the opponent’s defense to dust. He captioned the post with a bag emoji followed by the word ‘bag.’

The duo is certainly close and even took a visit to Ohio State at the same time last year to evaluate their college prospects. While both have tons of college offers, Bryce’s recruitment drive is heating up as the No. 47 guard in the 2025 class entered his senior year at Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California.
Is Bryce James Going for the Arizona Wildcats?
Bryce James is a 3-star prospect with offers from colleges, including Duquesne, Ohio State, and USC. The 6-foot-6 guard visited Arizona last week, fueling the speculation over his college recruitment. Per On3, Bryce has visited USC as well. However, nothing is confirmed about Bryce’s college destination.
His mother put an end to rumors after Bruce Arizona’s visit with an Instagram story captioning:
“#NotCommitted”
Bryce will graduate from high school this spring, giving him ample time to evaluate all his college options.
