On Married At First Sight, Emem Obot calls out Ikechi Ojore as a clown in a joker suit after he shows up with an attitude after disrespecting her. Michelle Tomblin can’t stop finding fault with David Trimble. Camille Parsons overreacts when Thomas McDonald runs late. And Karla Juarez concerns Juan Franco with an abrupt announcement. Let’s get to the bottom of it in this recap of Season 18, Episode 10 Anniversary Dinner Showdown.
Married At First Sight: Emem Obot Isn’t in the Mood for Clowns
As the Married At First Sight couples celebrate their one month anniversary, Emem Obot finds herself dealing with a clown. She works hard on presenting a lovely charcuterie board/picnic in park. Along with some watercolor painting since Ikechi wanted to see her “art”. He shows up sluggish and monotone even in the face of her obvious effort. He chokes down some cheese and smoked salmon. And goes through the motions with the watercolor while schooling Emem on hers.
Emem Obot is patient and just wants him to be accountable and make effort in the relationship. But he just won’t engage. Back at their apartment the experts have left gifts. A copy of their wedding vows, some champagne and photos. Ikechi won’t even sit next to her on the couch to look at the album on Married At First Sight. Emem Obot wants to know how he feels about the vows now. He gets rude and defensive and makes some analogy about a bear and an answer stick. Then point blank calls her an a-hole.
Of course, Emem Obot is upset. And Ikechi Ojore grabs up his backpack and leaves. She texts him often over the next few days and gets no response. So, she gets dressed up alone to meet the other couples for the anniversary dinner. To her surprise, Ikechi shows up in what she rightly calls a joker suit. Allen Slovick and the others demand to know why he’s being rude to Emem. And she storms off saying “bring me a damn clown and there’s going to be a circus” while the other MAFS ladies follow her in support.
Married At First Sight: Michelle Tomblin Just Isn’t Impressed
As the couples navigate their halfway points, some just can’t get on board with their MAFS matches. It’s been no secret all season that Michelle Tomblin isn’t feeling a connection with David Trimble. From finding out he dwells in his parent’s basement to smoking an occasional cigarette, her mood toward him is chillier than any Chicago cold front. David plans dinner at a swanky sushi place with rainbow colored drinks that billow dry ice.
But Michelle Tomblin isn’t satisfied on Married At First Sight. Because David shows up in a casual quarter-zip and tennis shoes. She scolds him like a disappointed mom. And he rambles about traffic and that he’s open to raw fish and foggy libations. But again, she just can’t move forward. So, looking back at the wedding video and all it’s promise only leads to her telling David Trimble again that the hope has diminished faster than the dry ice in her lavender gin and tonic.
MAFS Couples Celebrate One Month Together
The only Married At First Sight couple who progressed in these 4 long weeks are Camille Parsons and Thomas McDonald. Things start off a little rough on anniversary day. The pair are to meet for some one on one basketball. But Thomas is late and Camille orders a running drill as punishment. Later at a bourbon tasting, he gifts her a necklace. And admits he had to travel a bit for the jewelry and that’s why he was late. So of course she forgives him.
Karla Juarez is a free spirit indeed. While Juan Franco is a tad more regimented. So it doesn’t go over well when she casually mentions she quit her job at the hair salon. Juan’s face says it all. And his response to production is it’s okay to be crazy but not stupid. At a picnic Karla reveals she may have an opportunity to do hair at a photoshoot. But the details are vague. So, she will concentrate on learning to read tarot cards while chilling to her sound bowl in the meantime.
In spite of Allen Slovick’s fawning compliments of Madison Myers on Married At First Sight, he still only warrants a kiss on the cheek after winning a bet for her affection. Later, she cringes at his dad jokes while they do a tree climbing activity. And she shuts down his vision of a family and forever with him by suggesting “forever is a long time”. Ouch.
