SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Yonhap) — The season’s first snow fell Tuesday in Seoul and Incheon, just west of the capital, nine days later than the previous year, the weather agency said.
Compared to the average, this year’s first snow in Seoul is six days later, while in Incheon it is three days later, the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said.
The KMA said the nation is expected to see snow or rain across most areas through Thursday morning.
Temperatures are expected to drop overnight as low atmospheric pressure passes through the metropolitan areas, bringing snow in Seoul and its surrounding areas during Wednesday’s morning rush hour.
The agency said up to 3 centimeters of snow per hour is expected early Wednesday morning in the greater Seoul area, northern parts of North Chungcheong Province, eastern parts of North Jeolla Province and northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province.
Inland areas of Gangwon Province and the southern island of Jeju may also experience up to 3 cm of snow on Wednesday, the agency said.
