According to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, the Seattle Seahawks have “vehemently” denied a rumor on Reddit that claimed the team will unveil new uniforms ahead of the 2024 season.
“Sorry if you wanted new duds,” Condotta recently said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, “but (the) Seahawks will stick in 2024 with the four (uniforms) they had last year – home, road, throwbacks and action green.”
We cautioned at the time that we could not verify the rumor, which claimed the uniforms would include a new shade of blue, blend elements of their current and throwback designs and be complemented by home and road versions of the throwbacks.
But with similar rumors about the Denver Broncos’ new uniforms seemingly coming to fruition, we felt it was important to share the rumor and historical context about the Seahawks’ threads with our readers and reach out to the team for comment.
While the Seahawks never responded to our inquiries, it became increasingly clear in the months since that the rumor was false, especially as other teams publicly announced their intentions to unveil new uniforms in April.
That includes the Detroit Lions (April 18), Denver Broncos (April 22), Houston Texans (April 23) and New York Jets (TBD), who are promoting their throwback uniforms to full-time status and added corresponding road and alternate versions.
