Steph Curry’s wife Ayesha Curry and Sky star Angel Reese react to Cameron Brink’s engagement: “Look at God”

Must read

LA Sparks star Cameron Brink announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Ben Felter on social media. Brink and Felter have been together for three years before Felter proposed in France over the weekend. Several basketball personalities like Ayesha Curry and Angel Reese reacted to the development.

Ayesha, the wife of Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry, congratulated the couple while also giving out a piece of advice. For those who don’t know, Steph is also the god brother of Brink, as their parents were pretty close during their time in Virginia Tech.

“Yay yay yay yay!!!!!! Look at God,” Ayesha wrote.

Meanwhile, Angel Reese couldn’t believe it and was happy for her basketball peer. Reese and Cameron Brink are a part of the same draft class, entering the league this year as the seventh and second overall picks, respectively.

“STOPPPP😫🥺 congrats bby,” Reese wrote.

Cameron Brink and her boyfriend Ben Felter have been together since 2021 when they met on campus as student-athletes for Stanford. Brink is a star for the women’s basketball team while Felter was a part of the rowing team.

The couple has been open about their relationship and often share pictures of themselves together. They went to Paris, France following Brink’s successful third annual basketball camp for girls called “Next 22” in her hometown of Beaverton, Oregon.

That’s where Felter dropped on one knee and asked Brink to be his wife, with the Eiffel Tower serving as the background. And of course, the LA Sparks star said yes.

“Yes in every lifetime 🤍♾️,” Brink wrote.

It’s unclear when the wedding will be, but both are arguably busy with their respective careers. Brink is rehabbing and recovering from a devastating knee injury suffered last June, while Felter is trying to get his Master’s degree at Stanford.

How is Cameron Brink related to Steph Curry?

As mentioned above, Curry and Brink are god siblings. But what does it mean, and how did it happen? Curry’s godparents are Brink’s parents, Greg and Michelle. It’s the same for Cameron, whose godparents are Dell and Sonya Curry.

The Currys and the Brinks went to Virginia Tech in college. Dell and Greg were teammates for the Hokies men’s basketball team, while Sonya and Michelle were roommates.

They stayed in touch after college and remain close to this day, with Steph supporting Cameron’s career at Stanford and Los Angeles.

Steph is entering his 16th season in the NBA, while Brink’s rookie campaign in the WNBA prematurely ended due to a knee injury.
