Tennessee Volunteers Unveil New “Dark Mode” Basketball Uniforms – SportsLogos.Net News

Must read

Taking cues from the football and baseball programs, the Tennessee men’s basketball program unveiled new “Dark Mode” uniforms ahead of Tuesday night’s ACC-SEC Challenge matchup with Syracuse, which tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

This marks the first time in program history the Volunteers will wear black uniforms, which feature an orange “Vols” wordmark across the chest, orange numbers, an orange “Rocky Top” wordmark on the waistband and an orange Power “T” on the sides of the shorts.

The “Dark Mode” uniforms now join Tennessee’s standard white home uniforms, standard orange road uniforms and a cream-colored throwback-inspired set with a script “Vols” wordmark, which has become their go-to look in the NCAA Tournament in recent seasons.

Head coach Rick Barnes mentioned this summer that black uniforms would join the rotation, telling a local radio station that they were “not going to have a lot of piping on (them). (They’re) going to pretty much look like our baseball uniform, but with black pants and with no piping on it.”

The baseball program notably won its first College World Series while wearing black uniforms this spring, while the football program has worn black uniforms for the last four seasons, including the last three with black helmets after debuting the set with white lids in 2021.
