Former Bachelor Zach Shallcross<\/strong> is setting the record straight about why he and his fianc\u00e9e, Kaity Biggar<\/strong>, decided to get out of their wedding contract.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had been planning or talking about wanting to plan our wedding, figure out a date, figure out a venue, what do we like, what we don\u2019t like,\u201d Shallcross, 28, said on the Thursday, January 23, episode of the \u201cAlmost Famous\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

Shallcross explained that he and Biggar met with one of their \u201cgood friends\u201d who is a wedding planner to talk details.<\/p>\n

\u201cCredit to our wedding planner, she took it and started to run with it and started just booking us at all these places,\u201d Shallcross said. \u201cAnd we\u2019re like, \u2018Oh, wow, this is happening really quick.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tEverything is bigger in Texas \u2014 including former Bachelor Zach Shallcross and fianc\u00e9e Kaity Biggar\u2019s upcoming nuptials. Biggar, 29, announced via Instagram on Wednesday, April 17, that the couple\u2019s wedding will take place in Texas. She also revealed that their nuptials have been set for October 2025, adding that the pair are meeting with a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When their wedding planner said the couple would have to \u201cgo a lot over\u201d their budget for their ideal venue, Shallcross and Biggar, who want to prioritize buying a house, took a pause.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe pondered on it for a week and we\u2019re like, \u2018[It] does not feel good to just go so into this venue when we\u2019ve already established what our priorities are,\u2019 which is buying a house and not a down payment for one day,\u201d Shallcross said. \u201cSo we backed out of the contract. Not saying we\u2019re done with wedding planning. We\u2019ve actually gone further in other areas, but we just couldn\u2019t do that. I don\u2019t know, like it\u2019s so crazy nowadays.\u201d<\/p>\n
