BTS member Jin will make an appearance at the 2024 FESTA, scheduled for June 13 at the Jamsil Sports Complex in southern Seoul, just a day after his military discharge.

BigHit Entertainment, the agency representing BTS, confirmed Sunday that Jin, who will be completing his military service, which started in December 2022, plans to rejoin his fans in this special annual event marking BTS’ debut anniversary.

The “FESTA” is an annual event hosted by BTS’ agency where the group engages with its dedicated fanbase, known as ARMY, to celebrate its official debut on June 13.

Jin’s participation in the 2024 FESTA marks his first official engagement after his completion of military duties. As the first BTS member to complete his military service, his presence at the event fulfills a promise made during the 2023 FESTA, which he couldn’t attend.

Scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the 2024 FESTA will include two segments involving Jin — a hugging event for some 1,000 fans and a “special corner,” as stated by the agency, where ARMYs can “reconnect with various aspects of Jin’s unique personality.”

A Weverse live stream of the special corner will also be available for BTS membership subscribers unable to attend in person.

The event will also feature a range of activities including upcycling workshops, lucky draws featuring BTS song lyrics and a dedicated photo zone.

BigHit Entertainment emphasized that the event was organized based on Jin’s suggestion to create meaningful experiences with ARMYs.

“Jin will kick off his activities in the second half of the year, building excitement for BTS’ future endeavors with ARMYs,” the company said in a statement.

Meanwhile, six other BTS members, namely RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook, are currently serving their military duties. In Korea, all men are required to serve in the military for a period of 18 to 21 months unless eligible for exemption, which is extremely rare.
